Fantastic

I grew this in Portland Oregon. It easily shrugged off most diseases. The beautiful scent had a slightly tangy or peachy note that made it refreshing. One of my neighbors liked it so much he wanted to steal it.

Chinatown extremely reliable

This rose almost thrives on neglect. It loves sun and will reward you with clusters of large intense sunny-yellow blooms, with a little peachiness on the outer edges. This is among my most fragrant roses (Zone 6a) and blooms in waves throughout the season, from about May 30 to late September. The leaves are darkish green and shiny, setting off the flower color nicely. Can get some black spot mid-season, but it is quite manageable and doesn't lose a ton of leaves from it. I had it for about 12 years before I moved, but was able to buy another one and it is doing well. The bunnies do bother it in the off-season, so you would be well to fence it in while a young plant. One of my top 5 all time favorite roses. Mine got to be about 5.5' tall, with very strong, vigorous growth. It did not spread or tip over. The canes are very strong and upright, but not a pillar rose. Does not need support. You won't regret adding this rose to your garden.
