  • HIGH DISEASE RESISTANCE! Baronne E. de Rothschild® was a top contender in the 1998 Montreal Botanical Garden’s disease resistance tests, showing strong resistance against blackspot, rust, and mildew. She is a bi-colored rose displaying a crimson red bud opening to deep pink petals with a silvery reverse. Her large, 5” flowers are comprised of 40+ petals and have an amazingly strong, rose perfume, with leathery, bronze-green, glossy foliage. Baronne E. de Rothschild® frequently has clusters of flowers on one stem with a long vase life which makes her an excellent cut flower for any grower.

Exquisite form, fragrance and colors

If only it were less susceptible to blackspot!
The roses are high-centered, with outstanding form and of good substance, coming singly or in clusters. In Florida, the color is a rich, jewel tone magenta with a silvery white reverse, and there is intense rose fragrance.
I've had my Baronne de Rothschild for a year or so. The roses are larger and the production is greater during cooler weather. In August and September, in Florida it is plagued by blackspot and hardly has any leaves, but it bravely continues to produce quite a few roses anyway. Now, let's see if it survives. I hope so!
