  • Dedicated to John's uncle, Robert Clements™, with whom John shared a mutual love of roses for more than 40 years. This rose features long, pointed buds open to classically shaped, 4" blooms with 20+ petals that have an artistic feel to their color. The flowers are rich, deep apricot-blush, overlayed with orange-red to copper toward the edge of the petals. Robert Clements™’ striking blooms are produced in good numbers on a well-foliaged, continually blooming shrub, with rich, bright-green, glossy leaves.

One year in and thriving!

I planted this rose almost exactly a year ago. It is lush and thriving. It's full of buds and is going to be spectacular with a few more warm days. I'm in zone 8b.

Love this rose!

Survivor

Last year I planted the Robert Clements Rose and this spring it did not appear to be alive while the other roses I planted at the same time actually were looking very good. I thought it was dead but decided to leave it alone to see if it might come back. Finally as few tiny leaves emerged and I gave it some of the fish fertilizer as recommended. I am so pleased that while it is a lot smaller than the others it now has a couple of buds and looks healthy.. I am so happy about this as it was a memorial gift to me when my brother passed away. I feel certain that it will be fine now but will perhaps give it a little extra protection this winter. I am in zone 4.

Blooming machine!

I live in the Bay Area. I've had Robert Clements for several years now and have enjoyed every season. A very fast repeater, he is indeed a reliable blooming machine, giving me a constant supply for my vase all the way through November! Though I detect very little fragrance, the lovely orange-copper color and very nice flower form just make up for it. He has glossy, kind of coppery leaves which complement the blooms. Very disease resistant, the only maintenance I do on him are deadheading (which I enjoy) to encourage sturdier stems for next blooms, deep watering twice a week, feeding him with organic fertilizer every 6 weeks, and the usual pruning around middle of February. My complements to Heirloom, all my roses from you are wonderful!

Don't miss this bloomer

I am in zone 6 in the Midwest. I planted two of these Robert Clemens together. My rose collection from Heirloom consists of about 17 roses. Planted from 6 of 2017 to August, 2108.

These Clements are absolutely the best smelling and most prolific of the bunch (so far). Always one or two to cut and put in small vase to enjoy the heavenly scent.

Could NOT be happier with these two fellas.

Richard
